LECTURES |
Knowledge of the music of Mozart and his contemporaries, and of works by women composers has led Diana Ambache to do a good deal of lecturing.
She was a specialist lecturer for Martin Randall Travel, for example in 2006, leading tours to Kuhmo, and Trasimeno Festivals. She has frequently broadcast talks about women composers, including a recent series of features for Woman's Hour. And she gets invited to make presentations to a variety of societies, such as the Friends of Kenwood and the American Women's Club, and she gives a day of lectures for the Oxford University Department for Continuing Education.
Suggested lecture topics:
- Mozart Piano Concertos (influences, ingredients, innovations)
- Mozart chamber music (inspirational players; new forms)
- The changing fortunes of Haydn & Mozart (History's views)
- Haydn (the musicians' musician)
- Women composers (game: Cherchez la femme)
- From the New World (20th century American women)
- Special requests are welcome
